My very first tattoo. It was a gift to myself for my 18th birthday, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Pronounced “Fortississimo” it symbolizes both my passion for music and my outgoing and loud personality. Done by Michael Delaney at Tattoos by Hoss.

This is my TARDIS tattoo, from the show Doctor Who. (Allons-y is French for let’s go!)

I’ve been a Doctor Who fan for only a year, but I’ve never loved a television show so much. :)

I got this tattoo for my grandparents (on my fathers side). my grandfather played the accordion his whole life. the kurbits (the flowers) are for both of them since they’re from Dalarna, Sweden. It’s my favourite place in the whole wide world. The tattoo is placed on my inner arm, next to my heart.

I was raised with music and heavy banjo influences. I love the fast tempos of the bluegrass songs with the underlying sad lyrics. Alison Krauss is the QUEEN of Bluegrass so I got her recently added in a Sepia tone portrait to my tattoo outline on my chest piece. The whole tattoo will be finished by the gentleman who did the wonderful portrait, Jesse Tranter from St. Louis, Missouri (Washington Avenue). The words say “A Man of Constant Sorrow” sums up my emotional and physically abusive childhood and sung by Dan Tyminski of the song that was famously lip-synced by George Clooney in the movie “O Brother Where Art Thou”. I will add another submission when I get more of the tattoo colored in.

This is me now. The story behind it is quite personal - so I’d rather not - but please praise the artist: Berit Uhlhorn from Tatau Obscur - in Berlin Germany. She is great!

This is my first, and last tattoo (I think) - eventhough at night when I dream, I look down onto my own body, and I am completely covered with Blue Tits, Swallows and Sparrows. I love them.

On the finished tattoo the mouth is filled in black. 

I have been begging my father for a tattoo for the better part of a year. He would not give in. But on my way home from camp, he and I stopped in Canada for some “father daughter bonding time” which basically consisted of he and I getting drunk in Canadian bars. At one point I suggested we both get tattoos and he agreed! God bless Canada and Alcohol. 

I got a hitchhikers guide tattoo because I absolutely love the book and “Don’t Panic” means a lot to me too because I have been dealing with social anxiety for a very long time.
